This session will explore how social media, smartphones, AI, and the wider online world are shaping young people’s identity, relationships, mental health, and sense of reality.
Rather than taking a purely negative or alarmist approach, we’ll look honestly at both the opportunities and the pressures of growing up in a digital age.
Together, we’ll unpack some of the key challenges parents face, such as screen time, online safety, comparison culture, fear of missing out, and the speed at which trends and influences shift.
Alongside this, we’ll offer practical, realistic ideas for how to support and guide young people well, build trust, set healthy boundaries, and know when (and how) to step in.
This will be held on Thursday 11th June, 6-8pm, in The Garage Youth Centre, New St., Llandudno, LL30 2YF
